Leaders of sustainability startups need all the help they can get to advance their solutions into the market. This startup accelerator list provides insights into ag tech, clean tech, and climate tech accelerator programs that can fuel your firm’s rapid revenue growth.
Technology accelerators, often operated by venture capital firms or large corporations as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, provide intensive and immersive, boot camp-style programs designed to help entrepreneurs cultivate their ventures. Expect to spend anywhere from 10 weeks to 10 months with business experts who will help you refine plans to scale, introduce you to important connections across the supply chain, and potentially fund your business directly or help you secure additional investments. The cost to your startup? Generally, you’ll hand over a percentage of your startup’s equity.
These programs are often geared toward specific industries and even niche sectors of an industry. As such, within sustainability, there are accelerator programs for ag tech startups, clean tech startups, and climate tech startups.
What Is a Startup Accelerator vs. Incubator?
It’s easy to confuse these two types of programs, but they’re fundamentally different. Incubator programs are geared toward entrepreneurs with strong ideas and in need of guidance to develop those ideas into business plans. Accelerator programs focus on high-potential, generally early-stage businesses that have a clearly defined minimum viable product (MVP) and are ready to scale fast.
